Welcoming and Caring Environment
Within a welcoming and caring environment, we aim to inspire children so they develop enquiring minds, a sense of discovery and a love of learning. Our children realise the importance of working hard and making an effort because we know that this, together with a positive attitude towards constructive feedback and challenge, is vital for personal growth and development.
At Fawbert and Barnard’s, learning is exciting and engages children so that they develop skills, knowledge and habits such as resilience, reflectiveness and resourcefulness. Staff are passionate about ensuring learning is creative and effective, and that children are clear about what they need to do next to improve so they make as much progress as possible.
We offer a broad range of experiences for our pupils. The core offer of our curriculum promotes personal development - including values based education and high quality PE - and achievement in the basic skills of reading, writing and maths. In addition, we are developing excellent practice in music and the arts, outdoor learning and global learning.
A Sense of History
The school has a wonderful sense of history and tradition. At the same time, we aim to be forward-looking and innovative in our practice. We are passionate about staff development and work with our partner schools in the Templefields Multi-Academy Trust to support staff. We host students from different local colleges.
Working Together
We recognise how important it is for school and parents to work together to ensure children have the best possible opportunities in their primary education, and we value our relationships with parents.

Fawbert & Barnard’s is a school for children from four years to 11 years old with a long and successful history of education for children. We pride ourselves on knowing the strength and motivations of each child as well as the potential challenges they face and how best to overcome their barriers to learning. We are an ambitious and forward-looking school which aims to make a real difference to all children who come here. We believe in and explicitly teach the value of equity over equality ensuring that every child receives the support and challenge that they need as an individual - whether that is an academic, social or emotional sense.
School attendance is fundamental to a child's educational success, wellbeing, and future opportunities. Every day in school provides valuable learning experiences that cannot be fully replicated through missed lessons or work completed at home.
