What will happen in the first few weeks at school?
During the first few weeks at school your child will be observed to see what they are able to do and what they are interested in. They will be able to engage in a range of activities set out by the adults and choose their own activities to play with. We will be sharing lots of stories and rhymes, playing various games to get to know each other and discussing how they should conduct themselves in Reception. The children will be able to explore their environment, inside and out.
Snack
The children have a snack of seasonal fruit or vegetables during the morning which is provided by the Government.
How can you be involved?
We believe in working closely with parents to provide the best opportunities for our children. We appreciate the impact that parents have on children’s learning and always appreciate regular help in class. You could help in a variety of ways such as reading with the children at school, playing with the children modelling good language and developing ideas, cooking with the children and going on visits with the children. If you would like to get involved, look out for information on how to apply to become a volunteer at the beginning of the Autumn term.
Tapestry
Each child will have an account on Tapestry where we will upload observations of your child for you to access at home.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
